Virtualmin joomla script installer

Home Virtualmin Virtual Servers Issues converting a joomla site to joomla installed via "script". I love that I can easily update ALL my clients using the Joomla script upgrader, however, for any sites that we imported from other hosts, or other platforms the script is not "installed" How do I go about converting an existing Joomla site that we already host in Virtualmin to a Joomla version that was installed via the "script installer"? Howdy -- there unfortunately isn't a simple way to do that.

There's a "hacky" way that you could make it work -- though note that you could potentially run into problems with trying to get Virtualmin to manage an app it didn't install originally It usually does work, though we'd suggest making a backup first.

Okay, here is what I would try. That file is the Install Script Definition. Make a copy of that file, using any set of random numbers as the filename followed by. That includes the path, database name, database username and password, URL, and so forth. Database password hasn't been changed, but webmin's has.

I remember something related to database password in joomla installer was fixed in the installer API around a year ago Install Script In domain j Yes, both installs use the default script settings which is set to create a new database.

No databases exist on this domain before script running. Email me at jcameron virtualmin. Ok, I see the problem now.. The work-around is to create the DB first, then select it when installing..

Skip to main content. I tried to do that with my virtualmin: to use suExec but it doesn't work. Steps: 1 my apache config in the server template: SuexecUserGroup " " " " ServerName mydomain [ No issues, except the extra server RAM.

Hi Ronald, sometime in the past I must have set my virtualmin up this way, because when I went to implement this its already exactly as you described almost. The only difference is with the php. It is set up by VM as a symlink with permissions lrwxrwxrwx. Note for at least I commented out the two SetHandler lines, restarted apache2 and looked into joomla to see the directories are now writeable.
