In an attempt to clear Ahsoka's name, Anakin tracks down Ventress, thinking she is the one responsible for framing Ahsoka. Ventress explains that she actually wanted to help Ahsoka after realizing how much the two had in common. Both were abandoned by their masters in their time of need and forced to fend for themselves.

Ventress does have a compassionate side that shows itself very rarely. While on the run after being framed for a terrible crime, Ahsoka runs into Ventress, now working as a bounty hunter on the streets of Coruscant. Initially, Ventress wants to take Ahsoka in and claim the bounty on her head, but Ahsoka convinces Ventress to help her in exchange for a pardon from the Jedi council. Ventress helps Ahsoka evade capture by clone troopers, even abstaining from killing any at Ahsoka's behest.

When they part ways, Ventress is attacked by a cloaked assailant who steals her lightsabers, thickening the plot of deception surrounding Ahsoka's framing. Ventress arrives on Dooku's ship, and Dooku orders Savage to kill her.

Ventress uses the spell Savage is under to make him fight Dooku with her. One of the most significant aspects of the character of Anakin Skywalker is how unbelievably flawed he is, how he is susceptible to his emotions, often incapable of controlling his fear, anger, and passion. All of this helps Anakin have incredible dynamics with other characters shown throughout the prequel trilogy and The Clone Wars.

Most of Anakin Skywalker's greatest rivalries, such as Luke and Obi-Wan, come during his time as Darth Vader, but before then, as Anakin, he also has a handful of great rivals. Of course, on top of these rivalries, Anakin has some of the greatest friendships in all of Star Wars. Anakin has fewer long-term rivalries than he does with Obi-Wan. He did, however, have an arguably better rivalry with Asajj Ventress. The two found themselves facing off multiple times throughout The Clone Wars , often with Obi-Wan involved, but alone on a couple of occasions.

Ventress was often far wittier than Anakin, while he just wanted to kill her. Their final encounter on-screen was fantastic, showcasing Anakin threatening Ventress because she had been lying about Barriss. Obviously, this relationship becomes and is, in reality, a rivalry since Anakin and the Jedi are, unbeknownst to them, hunting Palpatine a. Still, even with the fact that Palpatine was manipulating Anakin , this is a standout friendship.

It is actually painful to go back and see how much better Palpatine treated Anakin than the Jedi High Council. Obviously, Obi-Wan and even Yoda and Plo Koon were good to Anakin on occasion, but Palpatine was a constant source of comfort and reassurance for Anakin. He trusted the Chancellor, and while it may be a fake friendship, it is perhaps the most important of the Skywalker saga. This rivalry is not explored massively and is less attached to specific individuals.
